Xinhua reporters found that the cracked ground near a damaged bridge was under urgent repair by local municipal authorities. The bridge lies on the Shweli road linking Kengtung and Tachileik. Some people are paying their last respects to the dead bodies before cremation and some are clearing debris and trying to sort out their properties.
Injured are receiving treatment by a military medical team and the Red Cross rescue workers are giving clothes to children.
On Saturday, in another quake-hit village -- Monglin, where was badly damaged by the quake, was also undertaken rehabilitation activities.
Food and cash aid were being provided by the authorities for the rehabilitation efforts.
In an interview with Xinhua, Daw Nan Hnint, a woman whose native is Tarlay Tiffany, said that food, drinking water and tents are badly needed in the area and villagers are expecting relief goods to reach them as soon as possible.
Nan Hnint, said with tears that her father was buried under debris in the quake and died of bleeding before he was rushed to hospital.
She said that her sister-in-law and nephew were also killed by a collapsed wall.
"My brother has been hospitalized in Tachileik hospital for sustaining a head injury", she said.
